Yankee Candle Spring Sale

The Prospect Band Boosters is excited to bring back our popular Yankee Candle® fundraiser! This can be one of your main fundraisers of the year, because Yankee Candles sell themselves. There are great gift sets and many non-candle items. Order forms will be at the March booster meeting and also in the band room or call Maggie and she will arrange to get you a catalog and order sheet. With all these great products you just might need more than 1 order form! Yankee has guaranteed PBB delivery in time for Mother’s day. Every family that places an order will automatically be entered into a raffle to win a fabulous Yankee gift basket, filled with their scent-sational swirl candles, worth $115.00. This basket has a candle for every season, Harvest Wreath, Tranquil Escape, Candy Slices, Garden Party and for Christmas, Holiday Garland. There will also be a mystery prize for another lucky winner. You can earn 35% profit for yourchild’s account!

Plant Sale

The Plant Sale is Friday May 7, 2010.  Spend these last few days of winter planning your Summer garden.  You will find an Order Form and a Tally Sheet at the end of the Newsletter.  Each band member is to turn in only a Tally Sheet and keep their individual Order Forms for distribution.  Pick up time for Band Booster members only is from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM.  This a great way to earn money for your students account as well as for the band.

Tally Forms and money are due to Cindy Mangan, 734 S. Burton Pl., Arlington Heights, 60005 by April 9, 2010. There is box on the front porch feel free to leave your Tally Form and checks in there.  I will check it on a daily basis.

Mary Kay Satin Hands

Please see the flyer for Mary Kay Satin Hands Kit. Each kit is $30 with $7.50 for each kit sold going to your student account. These make great gifts! I use the satin hands kit daily and am sold!

• Butter Braid Coffee Cakes - We are still hoping to get this fundraiser going for the 2009 holidays, but if we can't we will do it for the spring holidays.  This fundraiser will benefit student accounts
• Cheesecakes - Did you like them last year?  Should we do it again?  Give me some feedback and we will make the decision or go with something else.
  
  

Manna Fundraiser - Great way to raise $$$ for student accounts

• All about Manna
• Due date for this and all future orders is the 1st of the month.
• Orders must be delivered or mailed to Lucie Kreidler  or Jan Scott.  Watch for the email we send to verify orders received and contact us as soon as possible if your name is not on the list.
• The order forms have been discontinued since all orders are now placed online using the Manna website.
• Manna Pick-up is always on the second Tuesday night of each month, from 7 - 8pm.  We begin sorting and filling orders at 5pm, so if you are willing to help, please mark it on your calendar.  All are welcome!
• We ask that all families who benefit from the Manna fundraiser, to be members of the Prospect Band Bosters or the Prospect Choral Boosters.  If you have not yet joined, please enclose $25.00 membership fee with your next order using a separate check.
• Manna is open to Orchestra, Orchesis and Theatre families. If a child is not involved with band or chorus...their parents will make a yearly $25.00 donation to the Endowment in order to participate in Manna. This donation will be made via a separate check (made out to: PHS Endowment for the Performing Arts), and turned in with their first Manna order.
• As always, we appreciate your timely submission of orders!  Deadline is the first of the month.
• Remember to check www.mannagroup.net periodically for additional vendors, different denominations, and special offers.  Include a note with your order if you would like something that is not on our form.
• Manna account balances are on the Prospect Choral Booster site.
• If you wish to transfer money from your PCB account for Manna orders, please use the following form.

Did You Know...

Many companies - and almost all large ones - have matching gift programs.  While each has its own rules, they all pretty much will match an employee's donation to a charitable institution.  Please remember this when you or a friend makes a donation to the Band. It's a painless way to get more money for our fundraisers.  Usually, all it takes is a call to the company.  If there are forms or letters to be sent, we can do that. Contact the treasurer for assistance or for more information.

Prospect School Jackets

The Band Boosters receives a rebate from each PHS Student Jacket purchased at Waist Up Sportswear.  They are conveniently located at 1287 Rand Road in Arlington Heights, in the Prospect Crossing Mall.  Please call them at 847-577-0119 for more information.  Spread the word to all the students and parents.  This is a great way for the Band to raise funds.

Magazine Subscriptions

Want an easy way to earn money for band by doing something you already do? Renew your subscriptions online and get 40% for your band account, AND save up to 80% on newsstand prices.

Of course you can also buy new subscriptions. Makes an easy holiday, graduation or birthday gift, involves no trip to the store or wrapping, and it arrives throughout the year. If you work for an office that orders magazines, this is an outstanding fundraiser for you! You can even order the Wall Street Journal--they carry many many titles--be sure to search all that they offer. In fact, QSP goes beyond magazines and sells music and other items--all backed by the Readers Digest company.

Here's how:

1) You, or anyone you know, can order magazines or renew existing subscriptions using the website at www.qsp.com. Click on parent or student to begin--it doesn't matter which.

2) Click “Just Shopping” & enter Prospect Band's online code: 425068988 (this code can also be found by just entering "Prospect" in the search box to make it easier for friends).

3) You don't have to collect any money or do any paperwork! When checking out, whoever is placing the order uses a credit card. Be sure to enter the student name for the person's account you wish to be credited.

If someone else is buying to benefit your kids, make certain they remember this step. Once per quarter, our treasurer will receive a check, and the money will be added to your student account balance.
